Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Phyllida Barlow achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2017. In the Art For Grenfell auction, the work Untitled: White'Black' sold for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,528.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Phyllida Barlow; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot untitled: hiddenupturnedhouse sold at auction in December last year with the realized price of USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,266.97).
