Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A., which included the work A Gascon drinking coffee by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg. The price achieved of GBP 125.00 (€ 149.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100.00 – 150.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded landscape with two monkeys eating grapes in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 116,500.00 (€ 148,753.67).
