Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Two Borzois in an Interior sitting on a Bearskin Rug by Philip Eustace Stretton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,842.77), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Philip Eustace Stretton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rest After Toil in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,897.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Borzois in an Interior sitting on a Bearskin Rug von Philip Eustace Stretton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.842,77) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Eustace Stretton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rest After Toil im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 31.897,44).
