Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Hunters Resting At A Country Inn by Philips Wouwerman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,341.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philips Wouwerman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The departure of a hunting party in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,463,605.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hunters Resting At A Country Inn von Philips Wouwerman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.341,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philips Wouwerman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The departure of a hunting party im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.463.605,98).
