Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Figures And Horses On The Shore, With Sailing Boats Beyond by Philips Wouwerman. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,528.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philips Wouwerman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The departure of a hunting party in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,463,605.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures And Horses On The Shore, With Sailing Boats Beyond von Philips Wouwerman zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.528,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philips Wouwerman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The departure of a hunting party im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.463.605,98).
