Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work A goatherd with his flock and horse in a landscape by Philipp Peter Roos for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,482.55). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philipp Peter Roos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bull, goat, ram and sheepdog before ruins in a rocky landscape; and A sheep and a goat, with a horseman beyond in a rocky landscape in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 60,738.93).
