Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head #4 by Philip-Lorca diCorcia was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,702.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip-Lorca diCorcia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Storybook Life (The Complete Series) in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 396,596.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head #4 von Philip-Lorca diCorcia wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.096,00 (€ 3.702,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip-Lorca diCorcia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Storybook Life (The Complete Series) im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 396.596,97).
