In September 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Postwar and Contemporary Photographs, which included the work A Storybook Life (The Complete Series) by Philip-Lorca diCorcia. The »bidding war« ended at USD 468,500.00 (€ 396,596.97), 34% above the upper estimate. With this result, A Storybook Life (The Complete Series) is even the most expensive work of art by Philip-Lorca diCorcia that we have observed at auctions so far.
