Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Family Affair by Philip Leslie Hale was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,942.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Leslie Hale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Water'S Edge in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 183,402.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Family Affair von Philip Leslie Hale im September 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.942,28) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Leslie Hale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Water'S Edge im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 183.402,11).
