Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Philip Leslie Hale could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work The Red Necklace changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,109.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Leslie Hale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Water'S Edge in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 183,402.11).
