Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Paintings, which included the work A Female Saint Giving Alms, Probably Saint Elizabeth Of Hungary by Philip Fruytiers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,074.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Philip Fruytiers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of David Teniers, Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Black Cloak And White Collar, Resting His Left Hand On A Chair in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
