Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art, which included the work Portrait Of A Family by Philip Fruytiers. The price achieved of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,925.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Fruytiers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of David Teniers, Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Black Cloak And White Collar, Resting His Left Hand On A Chair in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
