Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Christies in New York held the auction The American Landscape, Black and White Photographs from The Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman, which included the work Phrenologist's Office, 1936 by Peter Sekaer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,971.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Sekaer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York, c. 1935, which sold at auction in October 2011 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,273.75).
