Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Mayday by Peter Sedgley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,284.23), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Sedgley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Counterpoint in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 74,343.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mayday von Peter Sedgley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.284,23) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Sedgley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Counterpoint im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 74.343,05).
