In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work A gentleman, facing right in fur-bordered blue coat, striped yellow waistcoat and tied cravat, powdered hair by Peter Mayr for GBP 352.50 (€ 560.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Mayr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young lady, full face in lace-bordered white dress, floral embroidered white stole draped over her right shoulder, coral necklace and earrings and gem-set gold ferronnière, her fair hair dressed in curls and plaited and a curl falling to her left, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,508.35).
