Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dosser by Peter Howson was sold in the The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh auction at Christies in London in October 2004. The price achieved of GBP 6,931.00 (€ 9,975.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Howson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 300,500.00 (€ 382,249.13).
