Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roadside, 1994 by Peter Howson was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 630.00 (€ 739.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Howson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 300,500.00 (€ 382,249.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Roadside, 1994 von Peter Howson wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 630,00 (€ 739,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Howson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 300.500,00 (€ 382.249,13).
