Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Checkpoint with Cannon, 1994 by Peter Howson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 630.00 (€ 739.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Howson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 300,500.00 (€ 382,249.13).
