Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait, which included the work A Russian nobleman, facing right in red coat with black facings and silver epaulettes, black waistcoat, wearing the blue moiré sash and breast star of the Imperial Russian Order of St Andrew and the diamond-set cross of the Imperial Russian Order of by Eduard Ströhling. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,503.15). Admittedly, works by Eduard Ströhling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Edward Barr Dudding (1804-1822), In The Guise Of Hercules, Circa 1810 in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,730.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Russian nobleman, facing right in red coat with black facings and silver epaulettes, black waistcoat, wearing the blue moiré sash and breast star of the Imperial Russian Order of St Andrew and the diamond-set cross of the Imperial Russian Order of von Eduard Ströhling zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.503,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduard Ströhling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Edward Barr Dudding (1804-1822), In The Guise Of Hercules, Circa 1810 im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.730,22).
