This artwork by Peter Biegel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2008. In the Sporting Art auction, the work Three studies of race horses; including Duke in the stable yard; and Study of J.L.K.'s Wilcox sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,088.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Biegel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The water, Aintree, 1964 in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 28,200.00 (€ 43,619.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Biegel erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sporting Art wurde die Arbeit Three studies of race horses; including Duke in the stable yard; and Study of J.L.K.'s Wilcox für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.088,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Biegel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The water, Aintree, 1964 im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.200,00 (€ 43.619,01).
