Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hunting Cheetahs on the Taru Desert, 1960 by Peter Beard was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2017. The price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,209.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).

Die Arbeit Hunting Cheetahs on the Taru Desert, 1960 von Peter Beard kam im April 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.209,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Beard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
