Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work American Setter And Ruddy Duck by Percival Leonard Rosseau was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 26,941.59). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Percival Leonard Rosseau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Setters In A Cooling Stream On The Grounds Of Overhills, Fayetteville, North Carolina, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 85,000.00 (€ 76,978.81).
