In April 2014 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings I - Contemporary Chinese Classical Paintings, which included the work Silk Road by Peng Xiancheng. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 253,000.00 (€ 23,530.64), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peng Xiancheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Play Polo in April this year with an auction result of HKD 96,000.00 (€ 98,034.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im April 2014 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings I - Contemporary Chinese Classical Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silk Road von Peng Xiancheng zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 253.000,00 (€ 23.530,64) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peng Xiancheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Play Polo im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 96.000,00 (€ 98.034,78).
