This price was achieved in the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Peng Chunshi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fourteen Pine Trees sold at auction in March 2019 with the realized price of HKD 330,400.00 (€ 37,489.28).
