Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The interior of a cathedral at night, with elegant figures attending a mass by Pieter Neefs the Younger was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,750.00 (€ 21,172.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Neefs the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of an elegantly dressed couple and a page in a picture gallery in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 432,500.00 (€ 371,308.38).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 17.750,00 (€ 21.172,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Neefs the Younger erzielen.
