Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peder Balke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2011. In the European Paintings auction, the work Norwegian two Sailing Boats By Moonlight sold for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,970.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peder Balke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work „View of Fredriksten Fortress in Moonlight“. (Fredrikshald im Mondschein). in May 2017 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peder Balke erzielte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Norwegian two Sailing Boats By Moonlight für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.970,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peder Balke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit „View of Fredriksten Fortress in Moonlight“. (Fredrikshald im Mondschein). im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 125.000,00.
