A top price for Pavlos Mathiopoulos - as previously expected
In May 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Greek Art, which included the work Portrait Of Despina Trikoupi by Pavlos Mathiopoulos. The price achieved of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,190.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait Of Despina Trikoupi is the most expensive artwork by Pavlos Mathiopoulos that we have observed at auctions so far.
