In June 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Sale - Paintings, which included the work Bather, 1928 by Pavel Dmitrievich Shmarov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,800.00 (€ 60,545.15), 36% above the upper estimate. With this result, Bather, 1928 is even the most expensive work of art by Pavel Dmitrievich Shmarov that we have observed at auctions so far.
