This artwork by Paulus Potter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2005. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A barnyard with two plough horses sold for USD 144,000.00 (€ 116,608.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paulus Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape with cattle and a woman cleaning a bucket by a stream in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 1,582,500.00 (€ 1,767,793.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paulus Potter erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit A barnyard with two plough horses für USD 144.000,00 (€ 116.608,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paulus Potter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape with cattle and a woman cleaning a bucket by a stream im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.582.500,00 (€ 1.767.793,54).
