Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A view of Leidschendam, seen from The Hague, with tow boats mooring near the sluices by Paulus Constantijn la Fargue was sold in the DUTCH, FLEMISH AND GERMAN OLD MASTER DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2000. Here, the upper estimate of NLG 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for NLG 8,776.50 (€ 4,111.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paulus Constantijn la Fargue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hague, A View Of The Binnenhof Looking North With The Ridderzaal; The Hague, A View Of The Groenmarkt Near The Westeinde Looking West in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 82,850.00 (€ 95,082.77).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von NLG 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für NLG 8.776,50 (€ 4.111,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paulus Constantijn la Fargue erzielen.
