A top price for Paul Sinding - as previously expected
In February 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work The Sea Battle at Helgoland May 9th, 1864 by Paul Sinding. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Sea Battle at Helgoland May 9th, 1864 is the most expensive artwork by Paul Sinding that we have observed at auctions so far.
