Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Le Nouveau Decor by Paul Seignac was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works auction at Sothebys in London in November 2009. The price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,155.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Seignac - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Learning to count, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 12,766.00).
