In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Portrait Of Löys-Henri Delteil by Paul Mathey. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,536.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Mathey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Connoisseur, possibly Erastène Ramiro (1853-1928), which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 47,750.00 (€ 56,093.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Löys-Henri Delteil von Paul Mathey zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.536,73) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Mathey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Connoisseur, possibly Erastène Ramiro (1853-1928) beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 47.750,00 (€ 56.093,95) versteigert wurde.
