This artwork by Paul Manship achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Pisces: A Bronze Ashtray sold for USD 1,063.00 (€ 963.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Manship achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Hunter And His Dog in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,135,786.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Manship erzielte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Pisces: A Bronze Ashtray für USD 1.063,00 (€ 963,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Manship erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indian Hunter And His Dog im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.135.786,34).
