Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage by Paul Madeline was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,597.62). Admittedly, works by Paul Madeline have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Baie D'Agay, 1912 in March 2010 with an auction result of EUR 21,605.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage von Paul Madeline im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.597,62) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Madeline auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Baie D'Agay, 1912 im März 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.605,00.
