This artwork by Paul Chardin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2005. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental auction, the work View over the Siloa Fountain to the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem sold for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,045.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Chardin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Caricature Of Giuseppe Verdi in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,790.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Chardin erzielte im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental wurde die Arbeit View over the Siloa Fountain to the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem für GBP 720,00 (€ 1.045,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Chardin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Caricature Of Giuseppe Verdi im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.790,25).
