Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams in London held the auction From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries, which included the work Kagami no mae (At the Mirror) by Paul Jacoulet. The price achieved of GBP 1,024.00 (€ 1,191.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Jacoulet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showa Era (1926-1989), Circa 1934 in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 31,325.00 (€ 27,899.00).
