This artwork by Paul Manship achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. In the American Art auction, the work Evening And Night: A Pair Of Sculptures sold for USD 348,500.00 (€ 329,457.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Manship - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indian Hunter And His Dog, which sold at auction in December 2013 for USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,135,786.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Manship erzielte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Evening And Night: A Pair Of Sculptures für USD 348.500,00 (€ 329.457,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Manship mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Indian Hunter And His Dog beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.135.786,34) versteigert wurde.
