Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE COLLECTION OF JAMES DANZIGER, which included the work Grand Central Station, 1950S by Paul Himmel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,505.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Himmel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude on White Background, 2, 1951, which sold at auction in February 2006 for USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,830.19).
