Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work Ferdinand declaring his love for Miranda; side panel of a triptych showing scenes from 'The Tempest' by Paul Falconer Poole. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 22,680.61). Admittedly, works by Paul Falconer Poole have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Conspiracy of Sebastian and Antonio', central panel of a triptych in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 81,260.00 (€ 118,637.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ferdinand declaring his love for Miranda; side panel of a triptych showing scenes from 'The Tempest' von Paul Falconer Poole zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 22.680,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Falconer Poole auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Conspiracy of Sebastian and Antonio', central panel of a triptych im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.260,00 (€ 118.637,04).
