Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Distant Thoughts; And The Love Letter (One Illustrated) by Paul Falconer Poole. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,247.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Falconer Poole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Conspiracy of Sebastian and Antonio', central panel of a triptych in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 81,260.00 (€ 118,637.04).
