Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art: European Art, which included the work Sainte Amélie, Reine de Hongrie by Paul Delaroche. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 37,055.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Delaroche have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Napoleon at Fontainebleau, 31 March 1814 in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 335,529.13).
