Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Interior Looking Through to Morning Room by Patrick William Adam was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,272.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick William Adam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dinner Table, Ardilea in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 105,417.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Interior Looking Through to Morning Room von Patrick William Adam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.272,16) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrick William Adam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dinner Table, Ardilea im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 105.417,28).
