Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in London held the auction Travel and Natural History including Modern Australian, which included the work Sofa, Tiger and Figure in the Outback by Patrick Hockey. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,420.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Hockey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian the Spivs, which sold at auction in August 2008 for AUD 6,000.00 (€ 3,502.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel and Natural History including Modern Australian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sofa, Tiger and Figure in the Outback von Patrick Hockey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 960,00 (€ 1.420,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hockey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian the Spivs beobachtet, die im August 2008 für AUD 6.000,00 (€ 3.502,49) versteigert wurde.
