This artwork by Patrick Hockey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. In the COLES MYER COLLECTION auction, the work Outback Street Scene sold for AUD 5,019.00 (€ 2,923.43) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Patrick Hockey; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Australian the Spivs sold at auction in August 2008 with the realized price of AUD 6,000.00 (€ 3,502.49).
