Auction result misses estimated price range
In December this year a collector was able to acquire the work Passion, six pronged flower - 1984 by Pat Steir for EUR 6,560.00. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art at Artcurial and was even below the estimate range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pat Steir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elective Affinity Waterfall in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,966,580.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Passion, six pronged flower - 1984 von Pat Steir für EUR 6.560,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Artcurial erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pat Steir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elective Affinity Waterfall im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.966.580,98).
