This artwork by Park Sookeun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2003. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Three women seated in the marketplace sold for USD 735,500.00 (€ 445,757.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Park Sookeun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree and three figures, 1962, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 1,986,500.00 (€ 1,545,192.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Park Sookeun erzielte im September 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Three women seated in the marketplace für USD 735.500,00 (€ 445.757,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Park Sookeun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree and three figures, 1962 beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 1.986.500,00 (€ 1.545.192,91) versteigert wurde.
