Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,604.47). Admittedly, works by Pancrace Bessa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Corbeille De Fruits Et Fleurs Sur Un Entablement De Pierre Sur Lequel Repose Une Tourterelle in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 43,750.00.

Die Arbeit A branch of Orange Blossom, with a Bee-Eater von Pancrace Bessa wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.604,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pancrace Bessa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Corbeille De Fruits Et Fleurs Sur Un Entablement De Pierre Sur Lequel Repose Une Tourterelle im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 43.750,00.
