Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work A branch of pears (i); A branch of quinces (ii) by Pancrace Bessa. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,730.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pancrace Bessa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Corbeille De Fruits Et Fleurs Sur Un Entablement De Pierre Sur Lequel Repose Une Tourterelle in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 43,750.00.

Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A branch of pears (i); A branch of quinces (ii) von Pancrace Bessa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.730,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pancrace Bessa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Corbeille De Fruits Et Fleurs Sur Un Entablement De Pierre Sur Lequel Repose Une Tourterelle im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 43.750,00.
