Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Birds on a Rock, 1963 by Pan Tianshou was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,480.00 (€ 19,349.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pan Tianshou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bamboo Valley in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 18,040,000.00 (€ 2,085,090.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Birds on a Rock, 1963 von Pan Tianshou wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.480,00 (€ 19.349,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pan Tianshou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bamboo Valley im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.040.000,00 (€ 2.085.090,26).
